In Panda Class we have been having lots of fun learning about traditional tales in our topic ‘Once Upon a Time’. We have planted ‘magic beans’ and have been watching them grow into beanstalks. We learned what plants need to be able to grow. We have been checking every day to make sure our beans have enough water and sunlight to help them grow tall. We have been measuring each other and finding out who is tall and short in Panda Class.
We have also been learning the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We made porridge and then decided if it was ‘too cold’, ‘too sweet’ or ‘just right’. We have been singing the song ‘When Goldilocks went to the House of the Bears’ and acting out the story.
We had a very busy and exciting Autumn term. Our topic was ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’ and we had lots of fun learning about our bodies and our senses. We explored a wide range of sensory experiences and shared what we liked and disliked.
We enjoyed swimming and the staff were very impressed at how confident we became in the pool and also how good at listening and following rules we were to keep ourselves safe. We also visited Fort Purbrook to do some rock climbing, at first we struggled a little but as the weeks went on we became excellent climbers!
We also loved getting ready for and learning about Christmas as well as practising and performing our Christmas Show for our families, we could see that they were very impressed!
We are really looking forward to reading some favourite stories next term in our new topic ‘Once upon a time’.
