The Early Years department celebrated an autumnal themed topic day. A variety of activities linked to the new season were provided linked to each area of the EYFS. An adapted story of an old woman who swallowed some leaves; building a scarecrow; digging, washing and peeling vegetables; autumn walk and vegetable printing. The pupil’s demonstrated new skills in working with less familiar objects, staff observed pupils matching, sorting and then building their own vegetable towers.
Many of the pupils enjoyed the opportunity to go on an autumn treasure hunt, collecting leaves in pockets, buckets and even wheel barrows.
A range of creative images were also produced including scarecrow faces and colourful vegetable prints.
This was a lovely opportunity to celebrate the end of our first half term as Cliffdale Early Years.
