What a wonderful sight there was in St Nicholas Church
What a wonderful sight there was in St Nicholas Church on Friday 25th October when Cliffdale Primary Academy headed across the road from school to the church to celebrate Harvest.
Everyone’s generous donations of custard and rice pudding were beautifully displayed; these will all go to Portsmouth Foodbank to help local families. Pumpkins collected by the pupils from farms along with a specially baked Harvest loaf and beautiful wild flowers all added to the ambience of the Festival.
The Choir led the singing of lots of songs and received many compliments from parents, carers and VIP guests. This was particularly impressive considering it was the first time the Choir have performed this academic year, and for many pupils it was their first time ever performing as part of a music group.
Pupils in the Choir also played percussion instruments to accompany everyone’s singing, with a selection of Lower School pupils proudly playing the shakers for one of our favourite songs, ‘Thank You For Our World’.
Jackie Peters from Portsmouth Food Bank thanked everyone for their kindness and Kimmie and Keeleigh shared a special harvest prayer.
What a lovely way to finish this half term – with a ‘feel good’ factor! Well done everyone!
